In March I was invited to take a look at Roy’s birds, Roy is a champion breeder who is giving up the hobby and has sold a
lot of his best birds on. When I met him he had about 150 birds left, they varied in quality but compared to my standards
far out weighed anything I have bred so far. So without hesitation I offered to by the job lot which Roy sold to me at a good price. The next thing was to tell Dad we had to stop build on the new bird house and quickly put together a flight that will go
in our outhouse for now.We then had to transport 150 birds from Roy’s to mine, not as hard as I thought as Roy had
already caught all the birds for me I just had to get them home, but next came the task of catching each one logging the
ring number colour and sex, it took forever but was worth it in the end. I spent the next few weeks spraying them
(not every day) and re conditioning them with vitamins and good food (by that I mean green veg at least once a week).
They all seem in good condition now and are just waiting for there new home |
